Natasha is an Associate Lecturer in Aviation at the University of Southern Queensland. Prior to this role she spent 20 years in the aviation industry as a pilot, eventually as a Training Captain with QantasLink in Queensland.

Natasha has always had a keen interest in history. She has a BA in ancient history and is completing her Masters in Philosophy in biological anthropology. And has worked as a bioarchaeologist in Cyprus and Laos and her current project focuses on Iron Age Thailand.

Her love of history and past also informs her research in aviation, where she focuses on the experiences of female pilots from the early days of aviation.

Dr. Ashley Jones (USQ Springfield)

Dr. Ashley Jones is the Senior Lecture and Discipline Convenor of Radio and Television Broadcast at the University of Southern Queensland. He is also the Associate Head of School, in the School of Creative Arts, co-leading the Engagement portfolio.

He has over 40 years of media industry experience and as an educator. He has worked in commercial broadcast television and radio as well as in newspaper and advertising agencies.

He is a current radio broadcaster across inland Queensland each Saturday with Talking Queensland, on the Resonate Radio Network. He is currently undertaking media research around the impact of radio on community with ABC Local Radio Australia. His work at USQ in developing a degree informed by industry and sees graduating students career ready, employable students. His unique approach has won him several teaching awards, most recently taking a national citation for outstanding contribution to student learning from Universities Australia, the AAUT Awards.

Professor Kevin McDougall (USQ Springfield)

Professor Kevin McDougall is currently the Professor of Surveying and Spatial Information in the School of Civil Engineering and Surveying at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). He holds a Bachelor of Surveying (First Class Honours) and Master of Surveying and Mapping Science from the University of Queensland, and a PhD from the University of Melbourne.

Prior to his current position, Kevin has held appointments as Head of School of Civil Engineering and Surveying (2013-2020), Deputy Dean and Associate Dean (Academic) Faculty of Engineering and Surveying (2010-2013) and the Head of Discipline of Surveying and Spatial Science at USQ.

Kevin has been a company director in a private surveying practice, held teaching positions at University of Queensland and USQ and completed a significant number of consultancy contracts in Australia and overseas. Kevin’s research interests include spatial information sharing, crowd sourcing of spatial data, property data and extending the utilisation of spatial information for the benefit of the community. He has served on a range of industry bodies and positions including the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute, Queensland Board of Surveyors, Foundation President of the Australasian Spatial Information Education and Research Association (ASIERA), Council Member of USQ and is currently a Director of the Board of Trustees for the Queensland Surveying Education Foundation.

Kevin is a Fellow of Spatial Sciences Institute, an Engineering Executive, a Companion Member of Engineers Australia, and a Graduate Member of the Institute of Company Directors.
